The choice is yours ADELINA, electricity is not a must have like food and water. Electricity is a desire. Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying you should live without any electricity at all but I am sure there is a lot that you could live without if you would apply your mind to the task and ask your heart to follow. You won’t have to change your religion ether. There is lots of info on the subject of living without electricity. After all, people had been living without it since, well, since there have been people. Its only been in the last 100 years that people have begun to believe they cannot live without it. That is the power of advertising.
Hey, to make your home more energy efficient, turn off the dang lights when you leave a room! I’m shcoked at how few peole I know that do this.
i change my light bulbs to 26 and 5 watt floresent,it lowerd my bill,my water heater goes on when i need it ,i got a few solar panels,to run a few lights at knight and some tv,i built a solar oven to cook in a few days a wk,i built 6 rain barrels and save on water and sewer bill,i have some solar lights outside by my sidewalk,i use 1 inside in my bath room for light,ill be doing alot more
and i allso have a wind generator that i built,and a big garden ,a compost,and 4 fruit trees,2 grapfruit 2 orange trees
I just bought a house almost 2 yrs ago, it was built in 1986 the home still has the roll out windows, I loose so much air out of them. It takes so long for the home to cool as the air conditioner unit is still the original one from 1986 . I have tried fixing the windows myself but the panes just fall out. I’m a single mom and don’t know what to do. I work part time as the economy is so bad right now. Please help.

I think we can only save the energy if energy efficeint appliances were cheaper. You see, most people want to lower the energy bill and help the earth but as long as the prices are HUGE, this will be a slow process
A heat recovery ventilator will replace the moist air with fresh air from outside that is dry. This happens using a fan to create a constant slow incoming flow of outdoor air while concurrently having an outward flow of indoor air that has become stale. In essence, fresh air is in constant supply as the allergens and other pollutants are regularly being escorted out.
There is a lot of information on the internet regarding building your own Home Solar Power System and Wind Turbine System. Does anybody know if there is any grants available in Florida if you change to renewable energy sources. I’ve also read some electricity companies will buy any excess energy that you don’t use. Is this difficult to setup and monitor?

great initiative. I built my own solar panel system, this way it came way cheaper than the comercial ones. I hope it will last as long. But ROI is certainly better.
I am disabled and live on $700.00 a month. In July my dad passed away and I had to use all my money to help pay for expenses.That put me behind on my mortage and all my bills which by the help from God I’ll find away to catch up somehow. I have severe allergies to mold and when I returned from the funeral I walked into my home which was 92 degrees.My ac unit outside died. I can’t possibly afford to replace it and I can’t afford a loan. I pray you can help me to see if it could be fixed. On top of that I don’t have any insulation in my attic which is more money I just can’t afford. I would be so happy to find someone out there that can assist me in my time of need.
